2025 Club Rechartering

The application form to re-apply for a renewed charter with the San Francisco Democratic Party is live and ready to accept your submissions.

Due date of completing the application for all clubs seeking a renewal of their existing charter by no later than January 24, 2025. 

Pursuant to the The San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee bylaws (Article IX, Section 3), clubs seeking a charter must provide the following:

  • a. A completed Democratic Club Application Form (above button);

  • b. A membership roster of at least twenty (20) persons (please download to fill in) who are members in good standing as defined in part (e);

  • c. A current list of officers, marked on the membership roster (b);

  • d. A copy of its Bylaws or other governing documents;

  • e. A statement that defines a member in good standing. At minimum, members of SFDCCC chartered clubs must at be residents in San Francisco who are (a) registered to vote as Democrats or (b) if ineligible to vote, have declared in writing an intention to register as a Democrat upon becoming eligible to vote;

  • f. A letter explaining how their club chooses their delegates to the CADEM Pre-endorsement meetings.

  • g. A certified statement that their club will follow the Code of Conduct adopted by the SFDCCC;

  • h. A $20 chartering fee. If you wish to mail in a check instead, please email [email protected] with that request.

The Clubs and Chartering committee of the SFDCCC will be holding two office hours sessions for existing chartered club officers and individuals interested in creating new prospective chartered Democratic Clubs to ask questions and seek clarification on the requirements and process for club chartering.

Additionally, Clubs & Chartering chair Emma Hare has scheduled an informational meeting of this committee to review all submitted applications and review them for completeness ahead of agendizing them for the February 26, 2025 meeting of the SFDCCC. 

That informational meeting will take place via Zoom webinar on February 9th at 10am. All members of the SFDCCC will be invited to sit in on the committee if they wish. 

Clubs will be notified ahead of time if they are requested to attend this informational meeting to explain, clarify, or otherwise elaborate on an element of their rechartering application.

As a reminder, Clubs & Chartering committee chair Hare has set a deadline for submission of applications for rechartering among existing clubs of January 24, 2024. Please ensure your applications are submitted by that time to ensure the committee has time to review all required documentation and agendize the rechartering of all clubs that fulfill all requirements for the February SF DCCC meeting.
