Artists in Residence

Artists are a big part of our Democratic Party team

As we opened our party HQ to elect Harris and Walz and our slate of Democratic leaders, we wanted to lead with art. To do so, we included artists and art leaders in our organizing team. We believe art is a catalyst, and we need it to help lift us all up in our campaign for victory!

Debra Walker

Debra Walker is an SF artist, who has shown nationally and internationally for decades. She has always been involved in politics, as a city commissioner, candidate, delegate and as an artist focusing on political subjects and moving the needle of reform.

She joins our team in helping bring in artists to create inspiration in our HQ and to inspire our volunteers and supporters in this incredibly important time.

Marti McKee

Marti McKee is a native of San Francisco who came into the art world later in life. Perhaps due to delaying her artist dream she has pursued the study of the figure with commitment and intensity for many years.

For the last two years she has focused on the current political situation.  She designs and prints silkscreen posters advocating for Women's Rights, Immigrant Rights, Social Justice and Impeachment.

JD Beltran

JD Beltran is an artist, filmmaker, journalist, designer and non-profit administrator. Her film-based artworks have garnered national and international recognition, and her work has been reviewed in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Art in America, and ArtNews. She has written columns for SFGate.com, the Huffington Post and Visual Arts Source, and is on the San Francisco Arts Commission, where she served as President for 8 years. She also is the Founder and Director of the Center for Creative Sustainability in San Francisco.
